Engineer Apprentice progression to University Degree success

Congratulations to some ex IPS trained Apprentices who have progressed on to Higher Education and Degrees level education.

Jake Froud employed by Smurfitt Kappa was an IPS Apprentice from 2006 to 2008, he progressed to an HNC gaining a merit distinction in HNC allowing direct entry into second year at London South Bank University.  Jake studied as a day release student alongside his normal work activities and has achieved a first class with honours as a Bachelor of Engineering B Eng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering .  Jake studied at University from 2010 to 2013 and now plans to work towards CEng status.

JP Limoi employed at National Grid and an IPS Apprentice from 2007 to 2011 has progressed on to gain an HNC in Electrical Engineering with Distinction.  JP is now studying for a BEng in Control and Instrumentation Engineering at Greenwich University.   JP is currently an EC&I Project Engineer.

Jason Hoadley also employed by National Grid and an IPS Apprentice from 2007 to 2009 is commencing a degree course in Mechanical Engineering at Greenwich University.

Not only do Apprenticeships mean that you can "earn while you learn" they are a great pathway in the journey into higher education leading to degrees, Chartered Engineer status and the phrase "earn while you learn" still applies even after the apprenticeship has completed.   Over the last six years 50% of IPS International trained Apprentices progress on to Higher Education and real career success .  Now that's really good Apprenticeship progression.
