The Government has launched a major advertising campaign featuring real apprentices from some of Britain’s brightest companies. The apprentices, some of whom are gaining degree level qualifications while working and earning, will feature in TV ads, posters, and in digital channels. The ‘Get In. Go Far’ campaign creative uses ‘selfie’ images taken by apprentices in the workplace to show their pride and sense of achievement. The images are uploaded to an interactive map as a visual representation of the variety and spread of Apprenticeship opportunities. See the Apprentice Selfie Map of the UK http://www.pinterest.com/Apprenticemap.
If you are an Apprentice and want to get involved email your selfie, labelled with your full name, age, apprentice level, role and company and why you love working there to: ApprenticeshipsEngine@theenginegroup.com,
The TV advertisement is available to watch on YouTube.
If you are on Twitter, Tweet your support of the campaign, and ask your apprentices to tweet their support of the campaign using the two hashtags #apprenticeships and #getingofar and copy @bisgovuk, and who will then retweet.
If you are on Facebook tell people if you’ve had a positive experience of Apprenticeships – what did you find out and what impact has it had, and post your comments on Facebook. Let us know about your post by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/IPSInternational.
Apprenticeships are already proving to be a successful and viable option to university; this year more than 800,000 apprentices are earning and learning. Since 2010, 1.8m young people have started an Apprenticeship across 170 industries. Research has shown that 86% of those who did an apprenticeship stayed in work afterwards, 67% with the same employer. Research with employers found that 96% of businesses which have taken on an apprentice believe their company has benefitted.
The campaign aims to show young people and their parents that Apprenticeships can be an equally prestigious route to a great career and secure finances in the years ahead. Find out how IPS can help you with Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships training visit the IPS Apprenticeship website pages.
