Want to know how to become an Apprentice?

Apprenticeships offer a great career for anyone. They're an excellent opportunity to gain qualifications specific to the industry you want to progress in and earn a wage. At the same time, you are working on-the-job alongside experienced staff and supported by professionals who visit regularly giving you the chance to study whilst you are gaining practical skills you can use daily.
The Levels of Apprenticeships
Levels of Apprenticeship are the equivalent of educations levels.
Intermediate – Level 2 – GCSE
Advanced – Level 3 – A Level
Higher – Level 4,5,6 and 7 – Foundation Degree and Above
Degree – 6 and 7 – Bachelor’s or master’s degree
Can I apply?
Apprenticeships are fully funded for many sectors by the Skills Funding Agency for 16-18-year-olds, conditions apply to those aged 19 years and over. Apprenticeships last from 13 months to 48 months, depending on the qualification you wish to pursue.
To start an apprenticeship, you need to be living in the UK, have 3 years or more residency and not in full-time Education.
How do I apply?
You will need to create an online account to apply for apprenticeships on www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/register
Once you are registered, you are ready to search and start to apply for Apprenticeships , feedback will be given back to you. Here at IPS candidates matching the vacancy criteria are given a telephone interview with our in-house recruitment department, if you pass this, you will then be put forward for interview with the employer.
Apprentice Oyster and NUS Cards
When becoming Apprentice, you can also access a lot more than just your Apprenticeship skills and knowledge. How do discounts on fashion and food outlets sound or saving 30% on adult rate travel card and bus pass season tickets sound?
Oyster cards:
If you’re 18 or over, in the first 12 months of your Apprenticeship and live in a London borough you may be eligible for an Apprentice Oyster Photocard.
*The apprenticeship must be SASE (Specification for Apprenticeship Standards in England) compliant or an approved Standard. It should be delivered by an approved further education college or training organisation and funded by the Education Skills Funding Agency
You can apply for this through Transport for London: tfl.gov.uk
Apprentice NUS Extra Cards:
For only £11 per year, apprentices can get a whole year of savings in a range of services. Services range from travel to music to fitness and fashion. The goal is to save you money while you are learning once you have signed up to access a NUS Card.
