Religion has influenced human history, culture, and identity for thousands of years and it continues to shape the way we live today. Whether through traditions, celebrations, or the values people carry into their daily lives, faith plays a role in how communities connect and how individuals see the world. Talking about religion isn’t about persuading others or agreeing on everything; it’s about building understanding, encouraging respect, and recognising the diversity of beliefs that exist around us.
Why talk about Religion?
Even if you don't consider yourself "religious", beliefs shape so much of the world - holidays, music, politics and art. Understanding faith - whether this is your own or others - isn't about having all the answers; it's about learning, connecting and respecting different perspectives.

Is Halloween a Religious Festival?
Halloween - From Faith to Festivities
Halloween began as All Hallows' Eve, the night before All Saint's Day in the Christian calendar, and also draws on older Celtic traditions like Samhain. While it originally strong religious meaning - honouring Saints and remembering the departed - today, it is mostly celebrated as a cultural event with costumes, pumpkins and trick-or-treating.
