Are you coming to IPS to train? Unsure what you need to do if you become aware of anyone, or have any COVID-19 symptoms? Please find a reference guide below for COVID learner absences and what to do.
What to do if:
You are a learner who has Covid-19 symptoms including any of the following:
– A new continuous cough
– A high temperature
– A loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or
smell
Action needed:
– Do not come to the training centre
– Contact IPS to inform us
– Self-isolate the whole household
– Get a test:
https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/antigen/name
– Inform IPS immediately about the test result
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
The test comes back negative or a period of 10 days has passed since the symptoms started, and you feel well.

What to do if:
You are a learner and develop Covid-19 symptoms, listed above, while at an IPS training centre.
Action needed…
– Immediately notify your trainer who will isolate you from
staff and other learners at the training centre
– Your bubble group will be asked to remain together and
not mix with other groups
– You will be sent home to self-isolate
– Get a test
– Inform IPS immediately about the test result
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
The test comes back negative or a period of 10 days has passed since the symptoms started, and you feel well.

What to do if:
You are a Learner in a training group where someone has developed symptoms of Covid-19.
Action needed:
– Your bubble group will be asked to remain together and
wash hands, cover your face and maintain space and not
mix with other groups
– If you develop symptoms get a test and inform IPS
immediately about the test result
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
Training will continue as normal unless there is a positive test result and then the whole bubble group will be sent home to self-isolate for 14 days.

What to do if:
You are a learner who tests positive.
Action needed:
– Do not come to the training centre
– Contact IPS to inform us
– Agree an earliest date for possible return (minimum of
10 days)
– Self-isolate the whole household
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
10 days have passed since the symptoms began, even if you still have a cough or loss of taste/smell (these symptoms can last for several weeks? AND you feel well.

What to do if:
You are a Learner where a member of your bubble group has tested positive for Covid-19.
Action needed:
– You will be asked to isolate
– Agree an earliest date for possible return (minimum of 14
days)
– Self-isolate the whole household
– If you develop symptoms get a test
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
After 14 days or if test result is negative.

What to do if:
You are a Learner who has tested negative
Action needed:
– Contact IPS to inform us
– Discuss and agree when you can return to training, (next
day/next week)
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
The test comes back negative.

Someone in the household has Covid-19 symptoms
Action needed:
– Do not come to the training centre
– Contact IPS to inform us
– Self-isolate the whole household
– Household member with symptoms to get a testInform – IPS immediately about the test result
Return to IPS Training Centre when:
The test comes back negative
