Designed for individuals who support assessors, monitor assessment decisions and ensure standards are consistently applied, these qualifications develop your understanding of quality assurance principles, assessment practices, evidence requirements, feedback methods and continuous improvement.

Depending on your role and responsibilities, you can choose from pathways that develop knowledge of IQA processes or provide the practical skills required to actively carry out internal quality assurance activities.
This qualification is ideal for individuals who need to understand internal quality assurance processes butare not yet carrying out IQA activities themselves. It is often chosen by aspiring IQAs, managers, department leads or organisations wanting staff to understand quality assurance requirements before progressing into the role.
Learners will develop knowledge of:

As this route is knowledge-based, there is no requirement to quality assure assessors in practice. It is an excellent first step for those preparing to move into an IQA role.
Typical roles: aspiring IQA, quality co-ordinator, curriculum manager, team leader, centre manager.
This qualification is designed for individuals who will be carrying out internal quality assurance activities in practice. It is suitable for experienced assessors progressing into quality roles, lead trainers, centre quality staff and managers responsible for sampling assessor decisions.
Alongside the knowledge requirements, learners will carry out practical IQA activity such as:
• Sampling assessor decisions and learner evidence
• Monitoring assessor practice
• Observing assessments where appropriate
• Providing feedback and action plans to assessors
• Supporting standardisation meetings
• Ensuring consistency across programmes or teams
• Maintaining quality assurance records
This route is most appropriate where the learner is responsible for maintaining standards and improving the quality of assessment delivery.
If you need knowledge of IQA processes but are not yet carrying out the role, Option 1 is the best starting point.
If you are responsible for sampling assessor decisions, supporting assessors and carrying out quality assurance activities, Option 2 is the correct route.
For many organisations, Option 1 supports succession planning, while Option 2 is ideal for current staff with active quality responsibilities.
Your initial meeting will take place remotely with an IPS trainer to discuss the qualification, your current responsibilities and the most suitable pathway for you. Following this, an enrolment session will be arranged to guide you through the programme, set out the requirements and explain the evidence needed to successfully complete the qualification.
You will receive ongoing support throughout your course, along with access to learning materials and guidance from your trainer. Please note, for practical IQA qualifications, you will need access to assessors and assessment activity in order to gather the required evidence for completion.

Where face-to-face delivery or support is required outside of Kent, mileage and any applicable toll charges may apply to help cover travel and delivery costs. Any additional charges would always be discussed and agreed in advance.
All prices are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the current rate. Standard payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice.
The above fees include registration, certification, guidance from an IPS trainer, learning materials and ongoing support throughout your qualification journey.
