This course allows learners to gain a deeper understanding of the role of a mentor and allows them to develop the skills needed to become an effective mentor. It will help learners to develop practical mentoring skills to support the role in the voluntary sector, statutory sector or private workplace. The course is suited for employers looking to employ Apprentices, or upskill staff within the mentoring sector to support learners wellbeing. It is suitable for all occupational
sectors.

This course aims to:

Develop the learners understanding and gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship
How to be clear about mentor/mentee relationships
Ensure the learners follow good practice
Develop the specific skills and understanding they will require in order to mentor
Reflect on their own learning and work performance
Understand the benefits of mentoring
Gain understanding legal and ethical mentoring requirement

  • It is likely that the majority of learners will progress to further vocational learning, leading to an appropriate and relevant occupational qualification at Level 2 or above. Learners may also choose to pursue a Level 3 qualification in Mentoring or Coaching.

You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by phone, email and one support session. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to 12 weeks from the date of registration.
