The City and Guilds Level 3 & 4 Awards & Certificates in Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA).

TAQA qualifications are for assessing and assuring the quality of assessment. These qualifications represent a real step-change in the approach to qualifications for assessment and quality assurance. For the first time, knowledge is formally recognised as the basis for sound performance through the mandatory inclusion of a knowledge or theory unit in all the qualifications.
Level 3 Assessor:
3 Units available with three Awards and Certificate:
Option 1
The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
A knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practicing. (unit 301)
Option 2
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment. (units 301 and 302)

The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is for practitioners who assess knowledge and skills in vocationally related subject areas. (units 301 and 303)
Option 3
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is for practitioners who may use all the above-listed assessment methods based on assessment principles (units 301, 302 and 303)
Level 4 IQA:
3 Units available with two Awards and Certificate:
Option 1
The Level 4 Award in in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is a knowledge-only award for those starting their journey. (unit 401)
Option 2
The Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is for practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre/organisation. (units 401 and 402)
Option 3
The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is for practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/ organisation. (units 401, 402, 403)
Level 3:
The level 3 qualifications are open to trainers and assessors who carry out assessments in most learning environments. Designed for anyone assessing in all occupational sectors. It provides a pathway for the learner to understand assessment. You can select the units that meet the requirements of your job role.
Level 4:
The Level 4 qualification are open to trainers and assessors who carry out assessments and are looking to move into a quality assurance role. It provides a pathway for the learner to understand assessment. You can select the units that meet the requirements of your job role.
Registration and certification with City and Guilds.
1 day training session, after this you are then required to work with a mentor and carry out some independent study.
